Karen R. Wilkins has 17 years of experience in assisting attorneys and the firm's clients in various practice areas, including civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, family law, criminal law, business law, trusts and estates, real estate, and municipal bond finance. Mrs. Wilkins currently serves as senior civil and commercial litigation paralegal in the Harrisonburg office of Lenhart Obenshain. In that capacity, she works on assigned cases directly with attorneys throughout all stages of litigation.
Experience
- Civil litigation paralegal with extensive experiance in commercial, patent, family, and personal injury litigation.
- Primary responsibility for gathering and organizing information and documents for attorney preparation, client meetings, court filings, depositions and trial.
- Conducts witness interviews and factual research and coordinates all aspects of personal injury cases for both plaintiffs.
- Works closely with clients in drafting responses to discovery requests from opposing counsel in various types of litigation matters.
- Assists counsel in preparing exhibits and other documentation for trial, and assists counsel as needed during trial.
- Assists in drafting pleadings and court filings.
