Martha M. Munson has worked as a paralegal in Harrisonburg for over 22 years focusing on commercial practice areas such as commercial real estate development and financing, tax-exempt financings, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, general business, and intellectual property.  She has extensive experience working with clients on matters involving multiple parties and sizable real property holdings, including public companies and their related issues.  Ms. Munson returned from a two-year sabbatical serving the United States Peace Corps in Lesotho, located in Southern Africa in 2003, and has worked for Lenhart  Obenshain since that time.

  •  Coordinated multi-state real and personal property lien searches and environmental inspections and participated in the review of related documents in connection with several multi-million dollar financings [for a publicly held company] 
  • Established systems for maintenance of corporate and limited liability company status with the State Corporation Commission, registered trademarks with the Patent and Trademark Office, and corporate real estate holdings throughout the Mid-Atlantic area.  
  • Served as due diligence coordinator for a number of asset and stock purchase sales and acquisitions.
  • Worked with bond counsel in connection with the drafting of documents, coordination of internal and external transaction logistics, and supervision of closing arrangements for tax-exempt financings on behalf of charitable organizations, governmental and quasi-governmental entities, and other eligible corporations.
