At Lenhart Obenshain
Andrew Baugher focuses his practice on civil and commercial litigation in both federal and state courts. He has experience with a variety of matters including intellectual property, breach of contract, business torts, employment disputes, and personal injury claims. Mr. Baugher's prior experience as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Virginia gives him a unique perspective on appellate practice. He has participated in appellate litigation before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Court of Appeals of Virginia, and is adept at researching and writing about complex legal issues. While in law school, Mr. Baugher won several regional and national moot court awards and appellate competitions demonstrating both oral and written advocacy skills. He also acquired a third year practice certificate from the Virginia State Bar and prosecuted several criminal cases during his final year of law school.

- Successfully defended trustee from claims of breach of fiduciary duty in connection with foreclosure proceedings
- Represented plaintiffs/appellants in appeal of wrongful death case to the Supreme Court of Virginia, which reversed lower court’s decision
- Along with co-counsel obtained a jury verdict in favor of defendant health care provider in case alleging discrimination under the ADA
- Successfully defended adoptive parents in the Court of Appeals of Virginia from a challenge to adoption proceeding
- Participated in litigation before the State Corporation Commission on behalf of commercial wind farm developer
- Handled briefing responsibilities in multiple appeals, including before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Supreme Court of Virginia, and the Court of Appeals of Virginia
- Represented national pet supply retailer in Virginia state court

Andrew was raised in the Shenandoah Valley and now lives in Bridgewater with his wife and son. He is a graduate of the Community Leadership Program sponsored by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce, active in the United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, and a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
